Mimi has been sewing, stitching, mending, and creating since the summer of 1969. What started as a curious middle school hobby quickly grew into a lifelong passion built on skill, patience, and a genuine love for helping people look and feel their best.

Through high school and beyond, Mimi found her place in the world of costumes, set design, and creative sewing projects. Halloween costumes, custom home décor, school theater productions, and everyday mending were just the beginning. When her daughter was young, and later her grandchildren, sewing became even more personal, a way to love, nurture, and encourage creativity in the next generation.

When her grandkids joined youth theater, Mimi stepped right in to help. She volunteered her talents to the Patio Playhouse Community and Youth Theater costuming department, assisting their designers during the production of “The Phantom Tollbooth.”

Before relocating to the Mohave Valley, Mimi worked as the on-call tailor for Macy’s in North County San Diego. She spent countless hours helping students with Homecoming and Prom alterations, as well as tailoring for brides, bridesmaids, grooms, and full wedding parties. Making a gown or suit fit exactly the way someone envisioned has always been her favorite part of the job.

She now brings that same level of expertise, care, and precision to the residents of Bullhead City, Fort Mohave, Laughlin, and Mohave Valley. Whether it is formalwear, everyday clothing, repairs, or detailed mending, Mimi approaches each project with skill and heart.

She also teaches the next generation. Through her popular Summer Sewing Camps for kids ages 8–11, Mimi helps young creators discover the joy of sewing. Her goal is simple, keep the art alive, one little stitch at a time.

Beyond the Sewing Machine

If sewing, teaching, and mending were not enough to keep Mimi’s hands full, she is also a wedding chaplain with
Vows From The Heart, a wedding officiant company that has married over 6,000 couples. Elopements, vow renewals, and Military Mondays outreach ceremonies for active duty service members all keep her schedule full.

“Stitch,” the little character found throughout the site, was designed by Mimi herself. While he cannot operate a sewing machine, he serves as the boutique’s cheerful mascot. Kids and adults love him, and he brings a bit of laughter to the studio, especially on the busiest days.
